Vade Mecum:

How to create a medieval manuscript book written in calligraphy using a crow quill and raven ink

Join the Book Arts Guild on Thursday, October 16th 6-8 pm at the Scriptorium ( also known as the Winter Park Library’s Community Room, second floor)
We will be making a Vade Mecum—Latin for ”go with me”— a handbook or manual kept nearby for easy reference. Learn how to fold and assemble a medieval manuscript book written with crow quills and raven ink. Artist and calligrapher Jenifer Patrick will share ink recipes and lettering tips. Monk attire optional.

Jenifer will provide parchment paper and cover material.

Attendees must bring:

Scissors 
Bone folder
Pencil
Ruler
Glue stick
Rubber band 
Ribbon
Quill feather pen 🪶 
Raven ink  🐦‍⬛
